OCC Runner Up!

Kilbourne finished 3rd Saturday and ended up tied for 2nd with Davidson in the OCC Buckeye division!  All-OCC honors go to Izzie and Brooke, and Brooke is the OCC Beam champion!  Brooke is also our OCC Scholar-Athlete.

January summary

January 2023 was a busy month!  The lady Wolves hosted the Kilbourne Invitational, a home meet with Hilliard Davidson, Lancaster, & Scioto, traveled to the Warhawk Invitational and Olentangy Liberty, then hosted TriValley, Westerville Central, and Grove City.

At our invitational we didn’t have any top 10 placers but season high scores were posted from Aubrey, Izzie, and Delainey in the All-Around.  Aubrey and Izzie added season high floor scores, 8.5 and 8.7 respectively, helping the team hit a season high floor score.  Brooke had her season high vault score (8.3) as well.

At our home meet with Hilliard Aubrey, Angelica, and Hannah hit season high scores on beam.  Izzie was the bar champ that night with 8.25, and Delainey was runner up on Beam (8.55) and Brooke was runner uup on floor (8.575).

The Warhawk Invitational provided the opportunity for everyone to compete.  Izzie tied her season high on vault (8.2), and placed 2nd on bars (8.0) and 4th on beam (8.4).

O.Liberty was a tough meet, and a win over Liberty would put the Wolves in 1st in the OCC.  However, the Wolves fell to the Patriots and are sitting in 2nd in the OCC Buckeye division.  Season high scores were turned in on Vault by Emma, Melanie, and Naomi; on bars by Emma and Delainey; on beam by Emma and Naomi; and on floor by Naomi.  Emma and Naomi both hit their season high all around scores as Kilbourne scored 128.5 to Liberty’s 133.45.

The Wolves picked up three wins in the home Tri Valley meet.  Season highs were posted on bars by Brooke (8.7), Ava, Naomi, and Izzie and the team hit their season high on that event.  Season highs on beam by Caroline and Ximena rounded out an excellent beam day for the Wolves.  Floor was exciting as Delainey won floor with an 8.85 (season high), and other season highs were hit by Emma, Alyssa,Sam, Caroline, and Addi.  Delainey had her highest all around score, helping the team reach their season high score of 129.0

Beauty & the Beast

Seniors Brooke and James competed in their last Beauty and the Beast event on Jan. 5. Brooke had her season high all-around score, placing 3rd with a 34.15.  She placed 2nd on beam with a season high 8.8 and 4th on floor with a season high 8.9.  Izzie placed 5th on bars and was the only other Kilbourne gymnast to place as they faced tough competition from Dublin Coffman, Jerome, Scioto, and Olentangy Liberty.  The team scored a season high 128.4.

2022-23 Season kicks off

The Wolves kicked off the season on December 8th at home with a quad meet.  Upper Arlington finished first with 129.15, while the Wolves came in second with 125.35.  Miami Trace was third with 119.35 and Big Walnut was fourth 105.05.  Also competing were individuals from Washington Court House and Adena.

Senior Brooke Carter led the Wolves by placing 1st on Bars (8.1), 2nd on Vault (8.15), 3rd on Floor (8.65) and 2nd All Around (33.1). The  team traveled to Marysville on December 14th and won a quad meet scoring 125.5.  Marysville was 2nd with 122.85, Miami Trace 3rd with 116.15, and Mechanicsburg 4th with 111.45.  Sheridan competed with a partial team.  Brooke and Aubrey won vault with 8.25 and Izzie and Delainey tied for 2nd with 8.2.  Izzie was 2nd on bars (7.65) and Brook was 3rd (7.55).  It was a rough beam day with 13 team falls, but Izzie stayed on and placed 3rd with a season high 8.3.  Izzie was 2nd on Floor, Brooke 3rd, and Delainey 5th.  Izzie finished 2nd AA with 32.8 and Brooke was 3rd with 32.05.

December 17 was the Hilliard Invitational.  Our only gymnast to finish on the podium was freshman Delainey with an 8.8 on beam!
