Worthington Kilbourne High School opened in 1991 

In 1991, Krista (Ford) Gibson and Tammy Garvin were the first coaches for Worthington Kilbourne High School and Marty McLain was the Athletic Director.  Krista and Tammy were  coached by Marty at Worthington High School before the split.

In 1992 Cindy Fushimi took over the program and has been the head coach ever since.  She has been named District Coach of the Year in Southwest District while coaching Troy High School, and twice in Central District.  She has also received the Service Award for her contribution to high school gymnastics, and was honored with the OHSAA Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity award.  In addition, she was named State Coach of the year twice while coaching at WK. Assistant Coach Missy Kott has returned to coaching after taking time off for her children. She coached WKHS from 1993-2001  and then returned in 2012.  Missy was also a Worthington H.S. gymnast and was on their State Championship team. She teaches kindergarten at Smoky Row Children’s Center.

Part-time assistant coach Dyanne Lewis is one of the original staff members at WKHS.  She was the Athletic Trainer until the position was switched to an Ohio Health staffed position. Dyanne retired from teaching in 2025.  She has coached at WKHS since 2012.
